The 1968 World Series featured two of the finest pitchers of the day, The St. Louis Cardinal’s Bob Gibson (1.12 ERA) and Detroit Tiger’s Denny McLain (31 wins)…but another Detroit pitcher, Mickey Lolich stole the World Series show winning three games.. . But baseball and the nation are never the same again after 1968.
