Since September of 2010 Doc has hosted, written and narrated Doc Stull’s Sports Today and in the Day on ESPN Sports Radio 1340 AM daily at 7:55 AM. and KGOE News Talk Radio 1480 AM Eureka CA daily at 4:30 AM and 10:30 PM.  His highly entertaining 2 ½ minute daily show looks at sport in American popular and ancient culture with original music from jazz composer Tim Randles.

 

Athletes and Sport in the Americas and Caribbean in Popular and Political Culture on KHSU, 90.5 FM, Arcata, CA

Since August of 2014 Doc has appeared with HumboldtHomepage host Danielle Orr on the first Friday of the month to discuss some of the great Latino athletes of the 20th and 21st century and the fascinating  intersection of sport, politics and popular culture.

From 20112- 2014, Doc hosted the New Books in Jazz podcast on the New Books Network.
Doc’s interviews included NPR Jazz Critic, Kevin Whitehead, Photographer/author Kathy Sloane about San Francisco’s quintessential jazz club the Keystone Korner, and historian/author/poet David Oliphant about his 200 page jazz poem bio of trumpeter Kenny Dorham and jazz scholars whose expertise covered Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and Benny Goodman.

 

Classics Now on KHSU, 90.5 FM, Arcata, CA

From 1994  – 2015 Doc hosted or served as a guest on Classics Now,  a show devoted to Classic Literature from Aristotle to Shakespeare on  KHSU 90. 5 FM the third Thursday of every month at 1:15 PM on the Humboldt Homepage..  Doc is a co-founder of the Northcoast Book Discussion Group .
