The 1968 World Series featured two of the finest pitchers of the day, The St. Louis Cardinal’s Bob Gibson (1.12 ERA) and Detroit Tiger’s Denny McLain (31 wins).  But the beer-gutted, national-guardsman #2 pitcher for the Tigers, Mickey Lolich steals the show!  But, after that year, baseball and the nation are never the same again.
